The Sanctum offers consignment sections with gently used games, RPG books, puzzles, and miniatures at great prices! Used items are sold on a consignment basis. Each shrink wrapped item (or set of items) has an accompanying condition report, completed by the seller, full of helpful information about the item’s condition and completeness. Stop in and check out the offerings as they constantly change.

Selling Used Games, RPG Books, Puzzles, and Miniatures at The Sanctum!

• We are currently accepting used board games, RPG books, puzzles and miniatures to sell. Novels, toys, dice, and collectibles are currently not being accepted.

• A free Customer Account is required to offer an item for consignment.

• A seller is limited to a maximum of FIVE items for sale in each of our Consignment Sections. 

• Within reason, the seller may sell a “set” of items as a single item (such as a game bundled with an expansion or a small miniatures squad). 

• Boxed items will be shrink wrapped together and presented and sold as a single item. 

• Miniatures are sold unpackaged from a locked glass case in plastic trays.  A person looking to consign miniatures will be assigned one 5”x12” tray. You may fit as few as one model or as many as will fit in the tray with our pricing tents. We may need to refuse miniatures that don’t fit our display capacity. 
  Consignment miniatures have to be assembled, but could be painted or unpainted. No loose parts or 3D printed miniatures will be accepted. 

• The seller brings the item to The Sanctum and enters their contact information and the condition of the item into a digital form only available in the store. The seller is expected to be honest about the condition of their item. The Sanctum staff will assist with the first item, review the form, and suggest changes if we deem them appropriate. 

• The seller determines a single asking price for the item. We require that your item is given a minimum price of $5.00. Please mark your sale price in whole dollars if possible. This price will be non-negotiable and The Sanctum will sell the item only at that price. We will not break up item sets.  We do not reprice items after they have been submitted by the seller within the first 60 days of consignment, afterward the seller will be contacted with an offer to price during the “last-minute” 30 days remaining.

• Upon submission, within a reasonable amount of time, The Sanctum will prepare the item for sale. Each item will be given a unique ID number to track it to the seller. Boxed items will receive a post-it note condition sticker generated from the information given and attached to the item before shrink wrapping.  A price tag showing the seller’s asking price will be attached before shelving the item for sale.

• Once shelved, an item will be given at least 60 days to sell. After that time, The Sanctum will notify the seller that there are 30 days remaining for the consignment, with an option to reprice the item. An unsold item may not be submitted for sale again for at least another 60 days after its full consignment window has expired.

• Upon the sale of an item, the buyer will be given 3 days to return the item if there is a disagreement with the condition reported. This is the only condition under which we will accept a used game return.  Puzzles, RPGs, new -shrink games, and miniatures are not eligible for return.

• As soon as possible after three days following the sale, the seller will receive a store credit to their Customer Account for 70% of the selling price of the item.  An email will be sent to the seller that includes a receipt showing which item had sold and the associated store credit.  The Sanctum will process any Wisconsin Sales Tax associated with the sale.

• The Sanctum has the right to refuse to accept any item due to demand, condition, appropriateness, existing copies already for sale, or any other reason.

• A used item sold on consignment remains the property of the original owner until such a time as it sells or is removed from circulation.

• For items that do not sell within the 90 day consignment window, the seller has 14 days to pick up the item after being notified. After this 14 day period, items are considered abandoned and become the property of The Sanctum. Please contact us if you require extra time to collect your item.

• The Sanctum does not directly purchase used items for resale.

• Store credit cannot be exchanged for cash.

• The Sanctum  will assume responsibility for the care of the item while in our possession.

• Pro tip: Price the game to sell.  You’re not giving it away, but you want it to sell.

 Buying Used Items 

Find an item in our consignment section you want to buy and bring it to the counter like any of our new items.  If you wish to purchase a consignment miniature, please ask an employee for assistance. Miniatures are not allowed to be handled before purchase and no packaging beyond our normal bags will be provided.

There are also a couple of differences from our normal return policy:

• Discounts: We do not discount used games.  The price is set by the seller and non-negotiable. 

• Returns: The only accepted reason for return is if the board game does not match the seller’s description. RPG books, miniatures, puzzles, and new in shrink games are NOT returnable. The buyer has three days to return used board games.  Please bring the condition report label and receipt back if you plan to return the item.  If you are concerned that the game will not match the seller’s condition description, you can open it immediately after you buy it and return it without leaving if it doesn’t match.
